Critical animal protection bills have been making their way through the 2026 Washington state legislative session, including:
H.B. 1608: Prohibits the selling, possessing, transporting, and distributing of farmed octopus.
H.B. 1904: Bans cat declawing, a painful amputation that can cause lifelong problems for the cat.
H.B. 1735: Bans the production, sale, possession, transport, or distribution of force-fed foie gras, a cruel practice that forces a goose or duck’s liver to swell up to 10 times its natural size.
