Urgent: Ask Your Legislators to Support Canyon’s Law

This action is for U.S. residents only.

Canyon’s Law (H.R.4180/S.2179) has been reintroduced in Congress. This federal bill would ban M-44s, also known as “cyanide bombs,” on public lands. These spring-loaded devices filled with sodium cyanide are used by Wildlife Services, a program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), to cruelly kill native carnivores and so-called “pest” species.

Native wildlife, including endangered species, are being slaughtered indiscriminately by a program that purports to help wildlife and humans coexist. Companion animals have also been killed by M-44s, and several people have been injured.

Although Wildlife Services has been directed by Congress via appropriations language to stop the use of M-44s, we are witnessing attempts to undermine this language. Passing Canyon’s Law is crucial to ensuring these devices are banned for good.
