
Two Animal Legal Defense Fund Attorneys Selected as New Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics Fellows
Animal Legal Defense Fund attorneys were selected for their outstanding contribution to the field of animal ethics
On June 27, 2023, it was announced that two Animal Legal Defense Fund staff members were selected as fellows at the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics, an independent center dedicated to the exploration of the ethical status of animals through academic research, teaching, and publication, joining the largest cohort since the program began. The Animal Legal Defense Fund fellows selected include David Rosengard, managing attorney, and Michael Swistara, litigation fellow. Incoming Animal Legal Defense Fund Executive Director Chris Green has also been named a fellow.
The process for selection is described by the program as “rigorous, painstaking, and frequently lengthy, and individuals appointed have to have made (or be capable of making) an outstanding contribution to the field.”
