Oregon: Urge Governor Kotek and State Officials to Close OHSU’s Oregon National Primate Research Center!
This action is for Oregon residents only.
The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) receives millions of taxpayer dollars to conduct unreliable, cruel, and unnecessary research on thousands of monkeys at their Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC).
Multiple investigations and review of public records have revealed a long history of violations of the Animal Welfare Act at ONPRC, including deficiencies in veterinary care, sanitation, and training of animal care staff, as well as failure to provide for the psychological well-being of primates.
Several Oregon legislators and Governor Tina Kotek are calling for OHSU to make plans to shut down their primate research facility in connection with OHSU’s proposed merger with Legacy Health Systems.
Email Governor Kotek, the Oregon Health Authority, and your state legislators urging them to ensure that the merger between OHSU and Legacy Health moves forward only on the condition of closing this cruel primate experimentation facility.
