Tené Johnson

Tené Johnson joined the Animal Legal Defense Fund in 2024. Tené is a litigation and trial associate in the New York office of the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP where she maintains an active animal law pro bono practice. Tené has represented several large non-profit animal welfare organizations and her work has included drafting and filing amicus briefs, defending animal activists’ right to free speech, and combating animal abuse. Tené has a JD from Columbia Law School, where she served on the board of the law school’s Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapter and wrote extensively about animal law issues. She has a bachelors degree in Biology from Brown University.
