Grants and Foundation Relations Manager

As Grants and Foundation Relations Manager, Manuela Arundel is responsible for the overall development and maintenance of our grants program. Manuela has 16 years of experience in all aspects of fund development, grants and foundations relations, strategic planning, donor and community relations, and increasing philanthropic revenue for a wide range of mission-driven organizations.

Prior to joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Manuela served as the Advancement Director for the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals – New England’s largest shelter dedicated to protecting neglected and abused equines.

Born in Rome, Italy, and raised in France, Manuela is trilingual and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University. She lives in Gorham, Maine, with her husband Brian, two brilliant cats Fiona and Callan, and their rescue beagle Huckleberry. Outside of work, Manuela spends time on the trails, training for and running ultramarathons.
