Jamie Lee Justice
Transparency and Regulatory Affairs Program Fellow
Jamie Lee is a passionate advocate dedicated to advancing change on behalf of animals. She supports the Transparency and Regulatory Affairs Program (TRAP) by working for the benefit of animals exploited by state and federally regulated entities such as factory farms, laboratories, puppy mills, and entertainment facilities. Her work includes factual research, data gathering and analysis, litigation support, and use of the regulatory process.
Before joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Jamie Lee graduated cum laude from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, earning her J.D. with advanced certificates in environmental law and international law. She served as Co-President of Pace Law’s Student Animal Legal Defense Fund Chapter and helped grow it tenfold during her time there by spearheading numerous events and initiatives advancing animal interests. She has interned for the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Humane World for Animals, the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the United Nations, and ALDF’s Pro Bono Program.
Her academic foundation began at New Mexico State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors, double majoring in Philosophy and Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law, with a minor in music. In all her academic and professional endeavors, Jamie Lee has made animal protection the center of her focus. She was honored to present her paper “Against Industrial Animal Agriculture: A Human Rights Approach” at the Fall 2024 Pace-Maryland Environmental Law Colloquium.
Jamie Lee lives in Southern New Mexico with her partner, Quinn. She loves hiking, playing her euphonium, trying new vegan recipes, and spending time with her family, including her sister, Sophie, a rescue poodle.
