As a Litigation Fellow, Cristina works with the Litigation Program staff attorneys to develop groundbreaking legal strategies to improve the status and lives of animals through the legal system. Cristina is primarily interested in using the law to fight factory farming.
Cristina completed her undergraduate degree at American University, majoring in political science and journalism. She was a freelance journalist and created a documentary about the environmental impacts of meat production, focusing on rural Indiana. She graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School with honors and received an environmental law certificate and an animal law certificate. During law school, she was the co-chair of her school’s chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, an associate editor of Animal Law Review, and a student attorney in the Animal Law Litigation Clinic. She was featured on an episode of the Animal Law Podcast regarding her work on a lawsuit challenging the deregulation of pig slaughter. In 2019, she was a legal clerk for the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Litigation Program.
Outside of work, Cristina reads political theory, makes funky jewelry, and plays with her dog, Nyx.
