Farm Sanctuary Manager

Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary

Potomac, Maryland

Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary is hiring an Animal Sanctuary Manager. We believe this is a compelling opportunity for someone who wants to be a leader in promoting the mission of animal welfare and veganism, while living in an idyllic sanctuary setting outside of Washington, D.C.

Rosie’s is situated on 5 acres, in a beautiful residential neighborhood in Potomac, Maryland. This prime, highly accessible location was specifically chosen so that more people could visit easily to tour and volunteer, as well as to be in the hotbed of other animal welfare organizations for collaborative legislative and policy action. We opened in early 2022 to leverage the ripple effect of change through connections and community. Because of our well-populated location, we enable thousands of people, of all ages, each year to connect with our animal ambassadors and learn about compassionate living.

We have approximately 40 animals and offer tours to the public. This opportunity provides on-premise housing, in a beautiful and spacious 3 bedroom residence. We offer a highly competitive salary, with housing and most utilities included, as well as 2 weeks of vacation a year.

Prerequisites include: (1) prior experience with farmed animals caretaking; (2) organizational skills; (3) ability to interface with the public; and (4) leadership skills to, among other things, oversee our wonderful volunteer corp. The Manager must also have their own transportation. They are responsible for the care and welfare of the resident farmed animals, the successful management of the farmed animal areas, its infrastructure and overall responsibility for property maintenance and management. The position will also include leading public and private tours at the sanctuary (in conjunction with working with our tour guides). Rosie’s has also had a fair amount of media coverage and the Manager may be requested to be interviewed occasionally.

We are a small sanctuary, but have a great deal of community involvement and a loyal following. We are looking for someone who wants to help grow the sanctuary and support the vision of veganism. Position requires that the Manager is vegan.
