Brittany Peet, Transparency and Regulatory Affairs Director, Animal Legal Defense Fund
Brittany Peet has devoted her legal career to advancing the interests of animals and brings more than 16 years of animal law experience to her role as Director of the Transparency and Regulatory Affairs Program (TRAP). TRAP works on behalf of animals in laboratories, puppy mills, the entertainment industry, and factory farms through data gathering and analysis, strategic litigation support, and regulatory advocacy. Before joining ALDF, Brittany led the PETA Foundation’s Captive Animal Law Enforcement division, where she led a multidisciplinary team advocating for wild and exotic animals exploited in roadside zoos, traveling shows, and the pet trade. Under her leadership, the team helped shut down dozens of abusive facilities and facilitated the rescues of hundreds of animals. She also collaborated on precedent-setting litigation advancing protections for captive wildlife.
Gillian Lyons, Regulatory Affairs Director, Humane World for Animals Action Fund
Gillian Lyons is the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Humane World Action Fund, formerly Humane Society Legislative Fund, where she works to build and maintain relationships with agency officials to champion the implementation and enforcement of federal regulations that support the protection of animals. Gillian holds a BA from Rutgers University in New Jersey and a JD from Pace University in New York, where she focused on the intersection of environmental and animal law.
