Zachary Handler
Litigation Fellow
As a Litigation Fellow, Zachary supports the work of ALDF to advance the interests of animals through court cases and regulatory actions. He is particularly interested in combatting the harms of industrial animal agriculture, which hurts animals, workers, communities, and the environment.
Zachary holds a B.A. in History from U.C. Berkeley, an MSt in Early Modern History from Oxford, and a J.D. from Georgetown Law. At Georgetown Law he was president of the Environmental Law Society and interned for Our Children’s Trust, DOJ ENRD, Humane World for Animals, EPA OECA, and the Environmental Law Society. He has published scholarship in The Environmental Law Reporter, The Georgetown Environmental Law Review, and The Journal of the Oxford University History Society.
Outside of work, Zachary enjoys acting, reading, and exploring Washington, DC’s green spaces.
