Susan Halteman

As Chief Advancement Officer, Susan oversees ALDF’s communications and development programs. She and her teams focus on advancing the mission by inspiring people to support and advocate for ALDF’s work.

During her 25+ year career working in development and communications, Susan has led teams and cultivated support for the arts, higher education, human services, housing, and animal protection organizations. Prior to ALDF, she served as the Senior Vice President of Development at the Good Food Institute.

Susan is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has her bachelor’s degree in English literature and photography. She lives in Grand Rapids, MI with her husband, Matt, their two children, and two rescue pups.
