Maia Dunlap
Litigation Fellow
Maia Dunlap joined the Animal Legal Defense Fund team in 2024 as a Litigation Fellow and works closely with the Litigation Program attorneys. Maia graduated from Fordham University with a B.F.A. in Dance and History, and received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Much of her time in law school was devoted to environmental law, including work with the Abrams Environmental Law Clinic, and internships with the Environmental Section of the Office of the Attorney General in Anchorage, Alaska, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. It was through this work that she was introduced to animal law.
Prior to joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Maia clerked for the Western District of Kentucky and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and was a staff attorney with the New Hampshire Public Defender.
Originally from Massachusetts, Maia now calls Concord, New Hampshire, home. She enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the Granite State with her family including dog Poppy.
