David Cassuto
Director
David Cassuto is Professor of Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law a Pace University, where he also directs the Brazil-American Institute for Law & Environment (BAILE). He is also the Class of 1946 Distinguished Visiting Professor of Environmental Studies at Williams College and a Visiting Professor at three Brazilian law schools. David holds a PhD in American Literature with a subspecialty in Applied Ecology) and a JD. He has taught and lectured on animal law all over the world and he is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Animal and Environmental Law.
This is David’s second stint on the ALDF Board, and he has also served as ALDF’s Senior International Counsel and CITES Observer. His writings on a variety of animal and environmental legal topics, including the nexus between animal law and environmental law, have been downloaded more than 30,000 times and widely translated.
