As Chief People Officer, Beth oversees the Human Resources function ensuring that the organization fosters a collaborative and engaging culture that supports all team members through the employee life cycle.
Beth is dedicated to creating inclusive and engaging workplaces where team members thrive in pursuit of organizational goals. Prior to joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund in January 2024, Beth was a Program Manager for the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights where she managed a 50-person office charged with investigating and resolving federal civil rights complaints in educational settings. Beth also served as Program Manager at Northwestern Memorial HealthCare aligning human resources strategies with organizational objectives and legal compliance. Beth’s expertise includes managing equal employment opportunity and immigration matters, reasonable accommodations, and crafting policies, procedures and training. Beth began her career at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where she served as a Trial Attorney and Senior Trial Attorney bringing a passionate and thoughtful approach to litigating employment discrimination cases on behalf of individuals who have experienced workplace discrimination.
Beth is deeply involved in the Chicago animal rescue community, volunteering, fostering, adopting, and serving as a board member at One Tail at a Time. She resides in Chicago with her two rescue dogs, Kate and Olive, along with a rotation of fosters.
