Urge Your Rep to Co-sponsor the Mink VIRUS Act!
This action is for U.S. residents only.
Take action to protect mink and human health!
Raising and killing minks for their fur is not only cruel — it’s also hazardous to the health of humans and wildlife.
There have been outbreaks of avian influenza throughout mink farms in Europe, leading to heightened concern of human spread. During the COVID-19 pandemic, tens of thousands of minks in the United States, and millions worldwide, became infected with COVID-19 — some resulting in instances of mink-to-human transmission.
Federal legislation has been reintroduced, the Mink: Vectors for Infection Risk in the United States (VIRUS) Act, (H.R.2185), which would phase out this inhumane industry in the U.S. and help current mink farmers transition out of the business.
Urge your federal representative to co-sponsor H.R.2185 today!
