Animal Law Boot Camp

9am to 2pm PDT
Webinar CLE Series
Join the Animal Legal Defense Fund for the first Animal Law Boot Camp! It is often said that “animal law is all law” because of the many ways in which an issue involving an animal might arise in various fields of law. Whether it’s a constitutional challenge to a law that restricts the ability of undercover investigations to shed light on animal abuses or the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence, animals are part of our everyday life in astonishing and complex ways. This new series is an exciting opportunity to learn how animal law intersects with other fields of law during an interactive webinar, all while earning CLE credit.
The Animal Law Boot Camp will host experts in their respective fields for an hour-long discussion on the ways in which animal issues and the laws surrounding them come into play with various other fields of law. This first program will include sessions on constitutional law, environmental law, ethics, and criminal law. A Q&A session will be held at the end of the program.
3.25 general CLE credits and 1 ethics credit are available from the Oregon State Bar. This series is solely online through a webinar. Please check your own state bar requirement regarding on-demand webinar CLE credit, as states do vary. Some states do not allow webinar viewing or have limitations on its use.
*At this time, purchases for this event are for the LIVE webinar only. Downloadable purchases for the recording might become available after the event; please check back for updated information.*
Once you register, you will receive an email from Go to Webinar with your registration information and a link to join the webinar on the day of the event. This join link is unique to you; please do not share it.
What’s the refund policy?
7 days after purchase – please check your state bar requirements before purchasing to ensure that your state will accept webinar-based CLE credits for all four topics, including ethics. States vary.
What is the target audience for this program?
While everyone is welcome to join, the Animal Law Boot Camp is geared toward attorneys. With that said, speakers will present information with the assumption that attendees have a basic understanding of legal principals. Since it is a continuing legal education opportunity, the information provided will be law-specific.
What is the format of the webinar?
Each speaker will have an hour to present their topic. The topics include constitutional law, environmental law, ethics, and criminal law. Speakers will provide a “quick and dirty” analysis of the most common ways in which animal issues come up in these fields and how attorneys might incorporate animal protection into their practice. Speakers will also use specific case studies to illustrate points and to provide context. A Q&A session will be open to all speakers at the end of the four topic sessions.
What if I need technical assistance?
While staff and speakers will do everything that they can to ensure a smooth event for all attendees, by virtue of being online there is a possibility of technical issues. Please call Go to Webinars’ technical support line at 877-582-7011 with any questions. It is strongly encouraged that you test your connection and system requirements before the webinar begins.
