Alison Mannwieler

Accounting Manager

As the Accounting Manager in the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Finance department, Alison Mannwieler ensures that debits and credits share their space equally and live together in harmony.  Alison also manages workers’ compensation audits for the organization. In this role, Alison combines a love for the logical processes of accounting with watching trends and figuring out the drivers of change, with a desire to support animal protection.

Alison received a B.A. in Business and an M.B.A. in Business Administration from Sonoma State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Empire School of Law. Alison is a CPA and licensed attorney in California.

Outside of work, Alison enjoys gardening, swimming, cross-stitch, crocheting, spending time with her mother, and learning new languages. Her dream is to live in Paris. Alison also continually cross-breeds Alstroemeria (Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas) in hopes of creating a new color.

Alison shares her home with a rescued Deer Chihuahua named Pierre who she calls Precious, and several cats that once were feral, who are all fixed and living as a family. Sam, the father, is an orange tabby and the Momma is an all-white kitty. Their kits are Boo, Sheba, and Kelli. Kelli’s daughter Marie also lives with the family.
