The Regulatory Affairs section of the Federal Affairs department, which works to support the regulatory goals of the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF) to ensure that all animals receive the legislative and regulatory protections they deserve, is seeking an intern (click to view expanded position description). The intern will learn about animal protection regulations while assisting with research and data compilation on federal legislation and regulatory issues. The role provides the opportunity to strengthen communication, networking, animal advocacy and diplomacy skills. The intern will learn how research assists policy work for animal protection issues.
Responsibilities and projects include:
- Research and draft briefing documents which highlight the important aspects of HSLF issues
- Assist with legal and non-legal research as well as writing projects on federal regulations
- Complete some administrative tasks
- Attend congressional or agency meetings and hearings
Applicant must be a second or third year law student.
