CALL FOR ARTICLES

Newsletter Volume 14 (2014)
The Endangered Species Committee of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources is seeking proposals for newsletter articles from legal practitioners, natural resource professionals, law professors or students, and others interested in writing on issues of Endangered Species Act (ESA) law, policy, and practice for publication in upcoming issues.  The newsletter is a good opportunity to publish and support the Committee and Section.

Article proposals due:
Friday, March 14, 2014 (Spring 2014 Issue)
Tuesday, April 1, 2014 (Summer 2014 Issue)

To submit an article for publication, please follow these guidelines:

Submitting Proposals:
Submit a working title and one-paragraph summary of the proposed article via e-mail to a Newsletter Vice Chair by the deadline indicated below.
A Vice Chair will contact authors with proposals chosen for publication.

Originality:
The Committee seeks to publish new and original articles, but will consider proposals to republish or publish forthcoming articles in a format for the newsletter.

Article Length:
Articles should be approximately 1,000 to 3,000 words, but may be as long as 5,000 words.
Citations: Citations must be in the body of the article and should be in Bluebook format.
Revisions: Authors may not submit revisions to their article after the due date unless there has been a substantial change in the law.

Article Deadline:
Authors with accepted proposals shall submit their completed article by the due date below.

Suggested Topics:
A few suggested topics include recent ESA regulations, proposed ESA legislation, state conservation bank formulation and implementation, ESA issues with renewable energy projects, and multi-district litigation settlement listing actions.

Article submissions that do not meet the above guidelines will be returned. The Vice Chairs will accept proposals and publish articles at their discretion. Authors will receive a publication agreement that they must sign before publication of an article.
