Litigation War Stories: Animal Advocacy

As part of the LA Law Library’s MCLE lunch hour speaker series, this class will explore the rapidly growing field of animal law by examining civil lawsuits in California courts that have used the legal system to advance the interests of animals.
- A brief overview of the field of animal law
- A case analysis of litigation to protect animals used in the food industry
- A case analysis of litigation to protect animals used in biomedical research
Matthew Liebman is a senior litigation attorney at ALDF. He graduated with distinction from Stanford Law School and clerked for the Honorable Warren J. Ferguson of the Ninth Circuit. His writing has appeared in the Animal Law Review, the Journal of Animal Law, and the Stanford Environmental Law Journal. This program is offered in cooperation with ALDF. 10% of the proceeds from the class will be donated to ALDF.
One hour general MCLE credit.
