ALDF Attends National State Legislative SummitPosted on August 24, 2007
Boston, Mass. – Nearly 4,000 legislators and legislative staffers from across the country (along with over 250 international delegates) gathered in Boston this August for the National Conference of State Legislatures’ annual Legislative Summit. Having so many elected officials together in one place offered ALDF a unique opportunity to meet directly with those responsible for passing stronger animal protection laws. "Our message, that protecting animals is not only the right thing to do, but also makes good political sense, resonated very well with attendees," said Stephan Otto, ALDF director of legislative affairs. "With a majority of U.S households including at least one animal, elected officials are recognizing, in ever greater numbers, the importance of siding with their constituents in support of strong animal protection laws."
