We’re looking forward to seeing you this Saturday at Cruise for a Cause: Making Waves for Animals! Here are a few details to help you prepare for the event:
We’ve had some questions about dress code for the Cruise. While there is no particular dress code, we recommend cocktail attire. Suits and ties, sports coats, cocktail dresses or your favorite choices for a special night out would all be appropriate. Formal wear is not required and, as the boat has some narrow stairways, we do not recommend long gowns or super high heels.
The boat decks are enclosed with windows that open. We don’t anticipate it being overly chilly (the forcast calls for weather in the mid-60’s that evening), but we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap to ensure your comfort. There will not be a coat check onboard.
We will begin check-in and boarding at 5:45 p.m., so it’s not necessary to arrive earlier than that. The yacht departs the dock at 6:45 p.m. Everyone will need to be aboard by then or risk being left ashore! After cruising the marina, the yacht will be back to the dock by 9:15 p.m. with the event concluding by 10:00 p.m.
Those driving to the cruise should park at L.A. County Public Parking Lot #9, located at 14110 Palawan Way. The cost for parking is $1.50/hour to a maximum of $10. More information and a map of the lot and yacht location is available at this link: http://aldf.org/cruise-for-a-cause/parking/.
The physical address of the dock is 4215 Admiralty Way. If you’re being dropped off at this location, you will walk behind the building down to the dock.
Food & Drink
There will be a delicious selection of plant-based food available during the cruise as well as a hosted bar with beer, wine, sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
We will be accepting credits cards or checks for the auction items. We have a great selection of goods, so come ready to place your bids!
