Take Action to Stop Ag-Gag in Your State

The Animal Legal Defense Fund is winning the fight against Ag-Gag laws that seek to silence whistleblowers from reporting animal cruelty at factory farms, and other industries that abuse animals. As a direct result of the dedication and hard work of ALDF, PETA, the ACLU of Idaho, and the Center for Food Safety, a federal court just struck down Idaho’s Ag-Gag law. The judge’s strongly worded ruling declared that Ag-Gag laws criminalizing undercover investigations at agriculture facilities are fundamentally unconstitutional. This is a major victory for animals and animal advocates!

But now we need your help. Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, Iowa, Utah, Missouri and North Carolina still have Ag-Gag laws. Under these laws, journalists, workers, activists, and members of the public can be punished for documenting animal cruelty or life-threatening safety violations, often facing greater penalties than the companies engaged in the abuse. These unconstitutional laws threaten animal welfare, workers’ rights, food safety, and the environment. We need you to help us send a message to these states that they need to repeal their unconstitutional Ag-Gag laws.
