Law Mentor Program
The New York State Bar Association Special Committee on Animals and the Law has a new Mentor Program. The Special Committee on Animals and the Law was established to provide an information resource for the NYSBA’s members, governments and the public about non-human, animal-related humane issues which arise from and have an effect upon our legal system.
The Special Committee includes professionals in animal health care, animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and other related fields in animal-law and humane-related work. A component of the new Mentor Program will include law students who will work with the mentors on various aspects of the Committee’s work. Law students who wish to participate in the student mentoring aspect of the program, please contact the one of the Co-Chairs of the program, Holly Kennedy Passantino, Immediate Past Chair of the Committee, at HKPassantino@aol.com or Beverly Poppell, Founding Chair, at Bpoppell@ocb.nyc.gov.
