Patrick Brown
Patrick Brown, MD is a professor of biochemistry at Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Stanford University. His areas of focus include the basic mechanisms of biological regulation, especially post-transcriptional regulation, molecular and cellular mechanisms of human disease, diagnosis and early detection of human diseases, especially cancer, the microbial ecology of the human body.
Additionally, he has studied characterizing human diversity and its sources, developing new technology, experimental and analytical methods for biomedical research, strategies for promoting and advancing open access to the scientific and medical literature and maximizing its benefits to the world, and most recently, he is turning his attention to developing practical, constructive strategies for eradicating animal farming.
